Protect High Current Circuits & Save Space with Marine Rated Battery Fuses

Posted by B. Nowak on Nov 26, 2013 6:59:23 AM

Marine rated battery fuses are a new circuit protection device from CooperBussmann by Eaton. Designed for the most demanding environments for the tightest space constraints.

Marine rated battery fuses (MRBF) are small, rectangular space saving fuses 1.09" long by .906" wide and .64" high. Made of UL-rated 94VO clear ceramic material for easy visual inspection of a blown circuit, and tin plated terminal stud holes for bolt down installation on MRBF holders. Suitable for main and auxiliary circuit protection such as alternator outputs, starter motor inputs and accessory circuits. IP66 rated for harsh environments of marine, off-road and heavy-duty trucking applications. Ignition protected to SAE J1117 standards and safe for installation aboard gasoline powered boats.

The breaking capacity of MRBFs meets requirements of conventional batteries and 12V, 24V and 42V electrical systems. Interrupt ratings of 10,000 amps at 14V DC, 5,000 amps at 32V DC and 2,000 amps at 58V DC satisfy ABYC requirements for DC main circuit protection on large battery banks.
